This superb luxury antique finca is set in its own secluded grounds with heated swimming pool and situated in a quiet rural location.

SITUATION
Soo is a quaint, commercially undeveloped rural village offering peace and relaxation away from, but within easy reach of, the coastal resorts and many of the main attractions.  Caleta de Famara's spectacular beach area is a 5 minute drive, and the fishing village of La Santa and Club La Santa sports complex is around 10 minutes.

There are numerous good local restaurants in La Caleta and La Santa.  The house is within walking distance of local shops in the village.

ACCOMMODATION
Casa Margarita is a very substantial individual house built over 200 years ago as a farmhouse (finca) in traditional Canarian style with thick stone walls and beamed ceilings.  The owners, with local craftsmen, have lovingly restored the house in keeping with its original character, adding modern facilities and appliances where appropriate for the added enjoyment of guests.

The accommodation is very spacious and furnished to a high standard with antique, reproduction and modern furniture and fittings for style and comfort.  The house is built around two inner courtyards comprising a main central courtyard, a pergola covered “al fresco” dining area and a barbecue patio.   Most of the rooms open onto one of these courtyards.

There are three double bedrooms all with wardrobes and dressing tables etc.  The master bedroom has a dressing room through which you reach the en-suite bathroom with double washbasins, large walk-in shower, WC and bidet.  The bedroom opens onto the main central courtyard.   The second bedroom, “The Almacen”, opens onto the secluded second courtyard and has a double bed, feature beamed ceiling and integral wardrobes and dressing table.  

The en-suite bathroom has walk-in shower, WC and washbasin.  Bedroom three is the “The Garden Suite”.  This delightful bedroom is approached from the main courtyard and has an entrance lobby/dressing room with stairs to an upper level retreat.   There is a double bed and French doors leading onto a stone patio between the main courtyard and the garden and pool area.  The garden suite is serviced by the very well-appointed main bathroom with walk-in corner shower, luxury tiled seating area complete with washbasin, WC and bidet.  The large lounge is very comfortably furnished with a triple and two double leather sofas.

A large open volcanic stone fireplace is a feature of the lounge, which has a high wooden ceiling for a cool atmosphere.  In-house entertainment includes satellite TV, DVD player and mini-library of DVD’s and books for guests' use.   There is also a CD player in the dining room with a selection of CDs.  The kitchen at Casa Margarita has been styled in keeping with the character of the house.  There are ample cupboard units, which blend with the terracotta-tiled floor and high beamed ceiling.   There is large electric range cooker with ceramic hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and a host of appliances and utensils for self-catering.  From the kitchen you step into the spacious dining room with a lovely old pine table and chairs, a dresser unit and antique sideboard.  Doors lead out to either the covered al fresco and barbecue courtyards or the main central courtyard.

OUTSIDE
The numerous courtyards and patios at Casa Margarita give you an outside feeling to living in the sub-tropical climate.  Double doors lead from the main courtyard into the garden patio.  Amidst the palms and established tropical shrubs there lies a beautiful 8 x 4 metre kidney shaped heated swimming pool.   Here one can relax and soak up the sun on one of the comfortable sun-loungers or cool off in the pool in complete privacy.  The ample sunbathing terrace around the pool allows groups or families to be together or apart as they wish.

Casa Margarita offers a unique holiday in a magnificent antique house of immense charm and character.  The friendly owners/managers provide a generous welcome pack, weekly maid service and twice weekly towel change.  Pool/beach towels are provided.  A meal can be prepared for late arrivals.  It is also possible by special arrangement to stay on a bed and breakfast basis with an evening meal option for up to 4 persons.

Please note that due to certain aspects of the structure, the house it is not considered suitable for young children under 10 years.   In view of the location, car hire is considered essential and therefore included in the holiday price.
