ESSENTIAL HOLIDAY INFORMATION
BROCHURE DESCRIPTIONS
The descriptions of resorts and accommodation in this brochure have been compiled following inspection
by our staff and have been checked to ensure they are accurate.
Changes may occur however, after publication.
There may be occasions when facilities may be withdrawn by owners or managers particularly in low season,
e.g. a pool may need cleaning or a swimming pool may only be heated during certain times of the year.
These changes are regrettably beyond our control and we reserve the right to change the particulars in this brochure.
We will endeavour to keep you informed of any known changes at the time of booking.
If you have already booked we will inform you as soon as possible before your departure if there is time.
Public holidays and religious festivals may also affect the availability of resort and complex facilities.
The relevant National Tourist Office can provide further details of such events.
BUILDING WORKS
The Canary Islands are rapidly developing holiday destinations.
Building works and noise are almost unavoidable.
Our reps attempt to keep up to date with the location of building sites,
but unfortunately such developments are not under our control, nor do we receive advance notice of where and when they will begin.
Where we are aware of any such works which will seriously impair your holiday, we will inform you at the time of booking.
We will advise you if work which may seriously affect your stay starts near your accommodation before you travel,
if we are notified in time. In some cases it may be possible to offer alternative accommodation, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Please note we cannot accept liability for any disturbance caused by property development which is not under our control.
We regret cancellations due to building work are subject to normal cancellation charges.
PASSPORTS AND VISAS
The information and advice given in this section is valid for British Citizens only.
Anyone who is NOT a British Citizen (this includes citizens of British Dependent Territories,
citizens who hold their citizenship by virtue of a connection with Gibraltar,
British subjects who have a right of abode in the United Kingdom and EC and other nationals)
should consult the Embassy of the country of destination, and the Home Office Immigration Department to check whether they
require any special documentation for the country they are visiting or for their return to the U.K.
For other British Citizens visiting the Canary Islands, a full British passport is required.
Children of 16 years and over and wives travelling alone must have their own passport.
It is important that the initials on your passport match those on your flight ticket.
If you need to obtain a new passport you should apply in good time before your departure.
It normally takes about 12 weeks to obtain a passport by post,
but this can vary depending upon which passport office you apply and the time of year.
VISAS
At the time of publication of this brochure no Visas were necessary for the destinations in this brochure.
If you are not a British Citizen you should contact your Embassy for information and advice on the passport and visa requirements
of the country you propose to visit. Please note:
it is your responsibility to have a valid passport and appropriate visa for your holiday.
HEALTH MATTERS
General standards of safety and hygiene in other countries differ from those in the UK and you should
therefore exercise greater care, particularly with the choice of food and drink.
At the time of publication no compulsory vaccinations or other health precautions were required for British Citizens visiting
the destinations in this brochure.
If you are not a British Citizen or require any advice on recommended health precautions for your holiday (please remember
health regulations are subject to change) you should consult your doctor (we recommend at least 2 months before departure)
for up to date advice. This is particularly important if you are pregnant, elderly or are taking young children with you.
If you have a disability please check with us before you book that the holiday you have chosen is suitable for you.
Help with wheelchairs is available at most airports but you should request this when you book.
The Department of Health publish leaflets containing advice for travellers on health and these are available free from your doctor,
local DSS office or by telephoning FREEPHONE 0800 555777.
FLIGHTS: CHECK IN & FLIGHT TIMES
Timings shown are local based on the 24 hour system.
It is important to remember; Flight timings in this brochure are for guidance only and are subject to change.
We do not operate any of the aircraft ourselves and therefore cannot guarantee any airline, aircraft or flight timings.
Likewise you should not book any holiday in this brochure if definite airlines, aircraft or flight timings form an essential
requirement of the holiday.
You should check in at least 2 hours before departure and we recommend earlier than this to enable you to choose your seats as
these are not pre-bookable.
BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
The luggage allowance is normally 15 to 20 kgs for each fare paying passenger (infants under 2 years have no
allowance) but this may vary depending on the airline or flight so please check your tickets for correct details.
Only one small piece of hand luggage per person weighing under 5 kgs may be taken on board the aircraft.
Please advise us if you intend to carry any additional items such as wheelchairs,
surfboards or golf clubs so that we can ask the airline.
Carriage of these items (except wheelchairs) cannot be guaranteed.
FLIGHT DETAILS
If you have taken out the holiday insurance offered in this brochure you will be entitled to compensation
under the Travel Delay section if the delay on your initial outward or inward flight is 12 hours or more.
Please refer to the Policy Wording document which will accompany your booking confirmation.
NB Details of flight delays must be obtained from the airline.
PREGNANCY
If you are pregnant you should check with your doctor before you travel.
If you are more than 28 weeks pregnant at the time of your RETURN flight,
airlines insist upon an medical certificate stating you are fit to fly.
If you are more than 32 weeks at the time of your RETURN flight they may refuse to carry you.
Please also note the restrictions on your policy.
INFANT SEATS
The Civil Aviation Authority has approved certain types of car seats for use on British registered
airlines for children aged 6 months to 3 years.
The carriage of car seats is solely at the discretion of the airline concerned.
The child would require their own aircraft seat and would be charged for at the appropriate child brochure price.
Please remember infants travelling without a seat must be UNDER two years of age prior to your RETURN date.
FLIGHT SUPPLEMENTS
The prices shown in the price panels are based on flights which do not carry a supplement
(this is very often Gatwick, see price list).
Flight supplements reflect the difference in cost of flying from different airports and vary according to seasonal dates.
The supplement for departing from other airports will be added to the base price where appropriate.
Further details of flight supplements are available from our reservations.
SURCHARGES
The company will not be directly responsible for the introduction of any surcharges.
Where surcharges are levied by the airlines for fuel or currency the first 2% equal to the basic flight and accommodation cost
will be absorbed by us and the difference will be passed on to you.
Any additional taxes or security charges levied as a result of government, airport or CAA action will be passed on to you.
ACCOMMODATION
We have attempted to describe in as much detail as possible,
the accommodation on offer in the variety of villas, apartments and hotels featured in our portfolio.
However, due to the individuality of the majority of our properties,
it is almost impossible to cover every detail apertaining to each one in a brochure description.
Furthermore, most of our villas and apartments are privately owned and therefore furnishings and equipment may be replaced or
updated as the owners think fit and this will not always be reflected in a brochure photograph.
Our staff have first-hand knowledge of the majority of the properties featured and we are always prepared to discuss at length
the different aspects of each one to ensure you are choosing the most suitable for your holiday.
For example, should you wish to know more about a villa location, its seclusion and privacy around its pool or suitability for
the disabled etc. please telephone our staff who will be happy to advise you.
In the unlikely event that pre-booked accommodation becomes unavailable or uninhabitable prior to or during your stay,
we reserve the right to substitute accommodation of a similar nature, standard or price.
Where substituted accommodation is of a lower standard or price, a refund will be paid for the difference.
COUNTRY VILLAS
Unlike the traditional orthodox holiday complexes and hotels, a number of our properties are in the
countryside, either isolated or in little villages which are as yet undeveloped commercially.
Each of these country villas are cared for by managers or owners who make every endeavour to ensure your stay is
comfortable and enjoyable.
It must be remembered, when booking this type of property, however, that services such as water and electricity will not be as
reliable as in the resorts and maintenance services will be slower.
A number of villas are located along unmade roads (common in The Canaries) and adverse weather conditions may, at times,
also have some effect.
There are most likely to be local neighbours who, though friendly, will need to go about their everyday business without
concern for tourists. In some cases there may be some disturbance from the local community in following the normal way of
life in their country.
The sub tropical countryside is also the habitat of a variety of animal life on the Canary Islands from insects to goats and the
occasional camel, all of which are normally harmless and commonly accepted.
NIGHTS IN ACCOMMODATION & OCCUPANCY
The price list quotes prices for one and two week durations.
A one week duration will be 7 nights and 2 week 14 nights.
The property managers or reception office will advise on the latest time to vacate your accommodation.
The price list shows prices for different numbers of persons for each category of property.
The accommodation can only be used by those persons shown on the booking form.
Should additional persons occupy, a charge will be raised to the lead passenger with whom the booking was made.
NB In the event of part cancellation where the full party does not travel,
the price for the remainder travelling will revert to the price for that number of persons on the price list.
Please see cancellation charges in the booking conditions.
EQUIPMENT IN THE VILLAS
When you book a privately owned villa with our company you may rest assured that we have taken every
precaution to ensure the villa is to the standard described in the brochure and we hope that when you arrive it is as you expected.
Some owners have installed in-house entertainment equipment, such as TV, video, cassette player/radio etc.
in their villas and where available this is for your additional enjoyment, although in some properties there is a charge.
We cannot, however, accept responsibility for the availability or function of any such equipment.
NB Satellite TV subscription channels are not included.
WEATHER
The climate chart detailed in the brochure is a guide only.
It has been obtained from the local tourist office and reflects weather over the past few years.
The Canary Islands, as a rule, enjoy a sub-tropical climate all year round.
However, occasionally adverse weather conditions e.g. tropical rain storms and a drop in temperature, may occur.
Times such as these may affect your accommodation as villas are not built to UK standards and therefore do not withstand extreme
weather as do properties in the UK. Swimming pools may become considerably cooler, even if heated.
CAR HIRE
We have made arrangements with reputable car hire companies to provide pre-booked car hire at fully inclusive prices.
This is most advantageous to those who require their car at the airport to meet them.
By paying in sterling you also know the exact cost before you arrive which includes mileage, CDW, insurance and local taxes.
We do not however operate the car hire companies and act only as the reservation agent whether or not the car is included in an
inclusive holiday. You must satisfy yourself as to the rental conditions, insurance and condition of the car before
taking delivery. NB Similar models may be supplied if your choice is not available.
Further details of car hire is available from our reservations and prices are as shown in the brochure under CAR HIRE.
PRICES
A full list of what is included in the price of our holidays will be found on our price list.
Villanza Ltd guarantee not to increase the basic price of your holiday after your booking has been confirmed with our confirmation invoice.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time before you book, however any price changes after your booking is
confirmed will not affect the price of your holiday.
SECURITY AND PEACE OF MIND
When you book a holiday with Villanza Ltd you may rest assured that your holiday and your money is secure.
We have arranged a bond lodged with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for all holidays in this brochure and hold Air Travel
Organisers License (ATOL) No. 2169.
If you would like further information regarding Bonding and ATOL please refer to the CAA leaflet Protecting Your Air
Holiday or you may telephone the CAA on 0207-832 5620.
