CAR HIRE

By far the cheapest way to see the Islands at leisure, is to hire a car. It is also the only way to discover the more remote areas.
Car Hire can be arranged on your behalf in advance and it is possible for the vehicle to be at the Airport upon your arrival.
On departure it may be left at the Airport.
The prices shown below are valid for 2008.
Please note a current U.K. driving licence is normally acceptable to drive in the Canaries.

EXCLUDING: Personal Accident Insurance, Car Contents Insurance, Petrol etc.

Villanza Ltd act only as agents to provide a car hire reservation service. The contract for the car hire is with the hire company and signed by the client at the time of delivery, whether or not the car is included in an inclusive holiday. No liability can be accepted for injury or damage, howsoever caused to any person or property. Clients must satisfy themselves as to rental conditions, insurance and condition of car before signing their contract with the hire company. Please ensure the vehicle is suitable for the intended use, eg. 4WD for off-road etc. It is customary for most car hire companies to require an excess deposit by a major credit card upon delivery of the vehicle.

INSURANCE

We have arranged a special Holiday Insurance Scheme through Citybond Suretravel, a division of Citybond Holdings PLC for any person travelling on any holidays advertised on this site.  The full terms, conditions and exclusions are incorporated in the Policy Wording which alone constitutes the contract of insurance between the Insured Person and the Insurers.  In the event of a dispute regarding the terms and conditions of this insurance the terms and conditions of the Policy Wording shall prevail.  Shown below are brief details only.  A Policy Wording will be sent to you with your confirmation of booking.  A copy of the Policy Wording is available on request.  The Insured is free to choose the law applicable to this Insurance Contract.  Unless specifically agreed to the contrary this insurance shall be subject to English Law.  This insurance is sold in accordance with the ABI Code of Conduct, a copy of which will be sent to you with your Policy Wording.

Insurance premiums are payable at the time of booking and should be added to your deposits. As a condition of booking you must have adequate insurance cover, either by taking our holiday insurance, which is adequate for normal requirements, or by arranging comparable or greater cover yourself, under all sections.

Persons aged 66-70 : 1.5 x premiums
Persons aged 71-75 : double premiums
Persons aged 76+ : treble premiums (up to 14 nights only)
Accompanied children 2-17 years : less 50%
Family definition: 2 parents or legal guardians and any dependent children aged 17 years or under.

HEALTH CONDITIONS

Important strict medical health requirements.
This insurance operates on the following basis:
1.  To be covered, you must be healthy, fit to travel and to undertake your planned trip.
2.  The insurance will NOT cover you when travelling against medical advice or with the intention of obtaining medical treatment or consultation abroad.
No claim arising directly or indirectly from a Pre-existing Medical Condition affecting you, a close relative, travelling companion or person with whom you intend to stay whilst on your trip will be covered unless:
a)  You have declared that condition to the underwriters, and
b)  You have declared any changes in your health or prescribed medication, and
c)  The underwriters have accepted that condition for insurance in writing

WARRANTY

Individual policies will not be issued, although you will receive a summary of the cover, and notice that insurance is effected will be shown on your booking confirmation provided that the appropriate premium is paid with your deposit.

INTERNATIONAL EMERGENCY CLAIMS ASSISTANCE SERVICE

A 24 hour emergency service operated by Europ Assistance  (Tel:  01444 442304) is available so that any Insured Person may request help in the event of a medical emergency overseas for which the cost would be recoverable under the Personal Accident and Medical Expenses Sections.
